Letting Go of Past Mistakes: A Mental Recharge for the Solo Mom

Image
I chose this topic today because I have had to do the internal work to free my mind from the traps of the past. That’s the enemy’s tactic, not God’s. The enemy, the Bible says, comes to steal. Kill and destroy, but Christ came so we can live and have life more abundantly. That means a new way of thinking and being, of showing up daily in speech, attitude and belief. As I write, I realise just how far I have come in my journey of single parenthood. The work I had to do and the reprogramming that has taken place using the Word of God and the books He brought to me has certainly transformed who I am today. God doesn’t make mistakes, as a matter of fact, in His Word it says His word cannot return to Him void.’ Those are words to help you live a better life here on earth while we wait for his kingdom to come. Have you ever looked back at a moment and whispered, ‘I wish I’d done that differently?’ Perhaps it was a parenting decision, a relationship you stayed in t...

Loving Yourself First - A Sacred Act of Faith

Image
Love your neighbour as yourself, and that means - You   Have you ever wondered how I love myself? Truly love myself? Have you ever wondered if it is wrong to love yourself while being a parent? In the first commandment, the Bible tells us that we should love the Lord first, with everything, and all of us, and then we should love our neighbour as ourselves. The first part says love God, then the second part says love yourself, and the third part says love your neighbour. I think a lot of us miss that concept. It therefore means that after God, it is us! We should look at our child/ren as our neighbours in the sense of loving them, caring for them, after we do the same for ourselves. I thought putting myself first was wrong as I am sure many of you may thhink, that it was all about my son, especially since I am a lone parent. But what a load of lies. That’s the enemy sneaking in and using the world’s view to mess us up. I believe that if I don’t take care of myself fir...

Hi everyone, I trust everyone is embracing the summer and the brilliance of the sun’s brightness. Here in the UK, it’s hot and I am loving it. So, it’s been a while since I did a blog post, and if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, know this: life got real. Between starting a new job, pouring into motherhood, and recalibrating my vision, I hit pause on blogging. It wasn’t intentional, but as a solo parent, it meant I had to find ways to recharge. I might have paused on blogging, but not on purpose, and not on growth. However, today, I’m re-entering with fresh clarity and renewed grace. If you have had to pause on anything, I want you to know the following: 🌿 1. The Pause Wasn't Failure For me, I had to learn how to become a working mother. I had to learn how to appreciate the new working environment, work with people I have never met, remember who I am in that new environment and be a higher version of who I am. Learning to balance this new life was not easy. There ...
