The Power of Forgiveness 💛

There’s a saying:
👉 Holding onto unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

How often have you been hurt? I know I’ve been hurt more times than I can count—by loved ones, co-workers, and people I trusted. For years, I carried those grudges like a badge of honour.

Then I read this scripture:

📖 Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV) – “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

That verse changed everything. I don’t want to carry the burden of unforgiveness, and I don’t want it to rob me of joy. Forgiveness isn’t about them—it’s about you.

How to Let Go & Forgive

If you’re struggling with forgiveness, here are some steps that helped me:

1️⃣ Pray about it – Ask God to soften your heart.
2️⃣ Call their names to God – Even if it’s painful, release them in prayer.
3️⃣ Seek wise counsel – Talk to a mentor or pastor (not just friends).
4️⃣ Write it out – Journaling can help you process emotions.
5️⃣ Be intentional about letting go – Choose forgiveness daily.
6️⃣ Focus on the good – Don’t let the past steal your present joy.

As mothers, we set the tone for our homes. A heart full of love and forgiveness creates a peaceful home for our children.

Final Thoughts

Being a single mom isn’t easy, but you are never alone. God sees you, He provides for you, and He is leading you to a beautiful future.
